Either do not attempt at all, or go through with it.

Make a decision and take the action that should follow, this action can be to drop the goal entirely and feel fine with that or to go full-steam ahead, or to set a specific date and not think about it again until that pre-determined date. Leaving goals, visions, ideas hanging around like wishes and dreams without follow-through is a sure way to have ammunition at the ready for the next time you feel down about yourself. Procrastination is a handy tool for creating low self-esteem.
